Aug 23, 2023 at 11:41 comment added salmonlawyer @DataProcessing thanks for the input. It wasn't that important, so I managed to convince them to edit around it. I think the issue came about because the sound engineer who recorded it in the first place tried to pull in phonemes from other parts of the file. I"ll look up more about Concatenative Synthesis techniques, but for now this is way too much time and effort for basically 3 words lol.
Aug 21, 2023 at 3:48 comment added Data Processing Depending on how important it is and how much time you have to spend, you may need to consider finding the right phonemes in other spots in the recording and do a manual concatenative synthesis. I had to do this before with a standup comedy album where the talent messed up a really important joke in both shows that were recorded, so I had to get creative to make it sound plausible and not pull the listener out of the experience. Can the words change to something which means the same?

Aug 4, 2023 at 10:17 comment added Tetsujin I was bored, I gave it about 20 minutes. I got the flow right, but by that time it was getting very robotic on the pitch/formants, so I just gave up.
Aug 2, 2023 at 14:52 comment added salmonlawyer @n00dles thanks for giving it a look anyway. Appreciate the input.
Aug 2, 2023 at 11:28 comment added n00dles I know from experience, it's extremely difficult to "mend" something like that. When the words don't flow together, barring some dedicated newfangled granular synthesis algorithm, it can't be done. Look at how much work has been put into Alexa and Siri, and they still don't sound natural. When you imitate them, you put on an unnatural rhythm and cadence. It's just so much easier to notice the error and re-record straight away. That's why I quit as soon as I heard it lol.
Aug 2, 2023 at 8:22 comment added salmonlawyer Well looks like another one that I'll have to tell my boss to can. I can't understand why the sound engineer even decided to do this.
Aug 1, 2023 at 13:58 comment added Tetsujin I can't make it sound natural even in Melodyne.

Jul 31, 2023 at 18:57 comment added zeronyne You might want to indicate where in your sample the issue it. The two minute audio is full of odd timing gaps due to the noise gate clamping down so hard (or maybe it was a series of manual edits). What exactly are you pointing out in the audio?
