Mar 18, 2014 at 14:30 | comment | added | Tobias Schmidt | It said power supply by recorder, so it should work with any recorder having a jack input. Its a problem with semiprofessional products, that they often do not have the standard technical details. Another thing, I stumbled upon some reviews that said, that the mics would create a lot of noise floor so you should really go to a local store and test those mics with your recorder. Than you can be shure with the power supply since they are not that clear in their technical details.

I understand what you are saying, but the thing that confuses me is that the ME12 and ME52w are both electret condenser microphones, but when looking at their Product sheets (here and here), the ME52w says that it requires 1.5-10V of input, but the ME12 seems to require no input voltage. If what you say is correct, how come so?

So it seems, that they need phantom power. Just google your mics if they are condenser. Good day

Mar 13, 2014 at 12:46 | comment | added | Tobias Schmidt | It is unusable without phantom power. If you amp this signal, you will get un unbelievable amount of noise.
Mar 13, 2014 at 9:51 | comment | added | bosnjak | It sure is a small setup when wireless mic is needed. But i don't need wireless, rather a wired solution. For this purpose i guess this microphone can't suffice. What would happen if i used the microphone without the possibility to provide phantom power? Would it not work at all, or just be extra quiet?

Mar 13, 2014 at 9:33 | comment | added | bosnjak | Thanks for your answer @Tobias, the ew100eng series looks promising, but I am uncertain about something. First, they seem to come only with a bodykit including wireless transmitter, which bring the question of phantom power up. Can I use such a microphone with my setup? As far as the normal size microphones go, my requirements can't bend that way, I really need a small mic..
