Yes, microphones like the AT899 give you the option of using internal battery power OR phantom power (from the XLR). Yes, microphones like the Rode Lav require phantom power without the option. Yes, the more phantom power is sucked out of your Zoom H6, the faster it drains the available battery power. You are almost always better off running equipment ...

no please don't sell your d50, it's such a wonderful recorder! the zoom might be good (i doubt it but it is possible), but it's not worth it to sell your d50. if you were a freelancer and pay taxes and do investments you've probably already would've paid of the d50. if i were you i would invest in a clean and simple 2 channel preamp and a good bag. buying ...

The problem is that every time you need to put it on, you have to tie it up like a shoe lace and not quickly like some tether. You cannot use something like a tether or plastic or anything hard to attach the recorder with the strap, otherwise it will give ...

I recognized that the "Rode Stereo Videomic Pouch/Bag" fits almost perfectly (though a little loose) around the H6. So I use it as a compact stowing solution. The pouch cost me 16 bucs and is made from neoprene. Because I needed a compact carry pouch for the H6 I just took one of those neoprene pouches along with a box cutter and cut away everything that ...
