With a lot of channels you can imitate a vocoder: You need to split the carrier and modulation signal into frequency bands as Internet Human stated. For each frequency band you need 3 tracks with the exact same filter setup for example for band 1 you chose lowpass at 100 hz and highpass at 50 hz. One channel has the modulator as its input signal, the other ...

Quantum Leap Silk has multi-sampled ethnic instruments original from India like Dilruba, Sarod, Tanpura and Bansuri along other great virtual instruments. The next best virtual instrument library for east west for ethnics would be Ra. From having used both and a couple of other kontakt instruments - I can say that there's a good chance to get the sound you'...

I've installed Pro Tools 9 to 2009 imac, 2010 MacBook Pro, 2008 MacPro and latest iMac. All running with Mavericks. Running nicely with no problems.

I suggest waiting until the software gets appropriate bug fixes, if you don't have immediate needs for upgrading. what do you think are the risks involved in upgrading? Wasting time on fighting with incomplete software. Not getting work done. I am still nervous about spending money on a system that will not accommodate what I have on the existing PT 9....

I have had serious problems with PT 9 and ML. PT 9 has constant buffering errors despite re-setting them, it crashes on a regular basis and freezes, comes back to life and then freezes again. Very frustrating. The only solution I found was to rn PT off of a Lacie drive which seemed to solve most of the issues.

Since Pro Tools 10 can handle multiple file formats in a single session, is the issue possibly that the Pro Tools 9 session is referencing multiple sample rates?

Best bet is probably to do the above, trash preferences etc (the usual) and failing that ask on the AVID Pro Tools support forums as they're a more technical forum and less about sound design where as this is the opposite. They'll be able to get you sorted for definite i'm sure :) http://duc.avid.com/forumdisplay.php?s=f8813aed26a07f99959ff66a38d6cab6&f=...

Hey! I found an app for my iphone that's called "NumberKey"and it works perfectly, you only create a network or connect via wifi and your iphone becomes your keypad :). Plus it comes really handy when you need to record and you are far away from your laptop. I hope this helps, and hope you have an iphone haha. Cheers.

There's a work-around; it's kind of a pain, but so's the latency... First, make a safety copy of all of your tracks as alternate playlists, so you can go back if need be. Then Option+Command-Click (or Alt+Control-Click) on the channel's vol/peak/delay display so you know how many ms the delay is. Then nudge your track forward in time by that number of ...

Aside from Shaun's good advice, you may also have a corrupted fade or file (I've seen all sorts). If clearing Prefs etc. doesn't work try these: First, try deleting the Fade Files for the session... PT will rebuild them. Corrupted Fade Files can cause all sorts of weirdness. Second, try a "Save Session Copy In" with all audio files. If there's a weird ...
