I think the first thing to note here is that the drum track you're hearing on this is most likely a sample. The sounds have a fairly distinctive quality that comes from being sped up from around 120bpm to around 160bpm (about a 33% increase in speed). Recreating this is not impossible but, as this is a sample, you will need to think a little like a real ...

You can't only talk about the diaphragms with microphones you also have to include the preamplification and circuitry but that's a very technical discussion compared to what I think you're asking... Mixing and producing records is about storing all the sounds and timbres that you can create in your brain and using the best combination of these for the task ...

Buffer under-run or clock sync issues. There, that was easy to say… much harder to diagnose ;) To over-simplify, both of those are reasons that the audio has to run to catch up all the time, meaning it occasionally skips a bit. Whenever that generates a rapid zero crossing in the audio waveform (in effect, a big sudden step rather than a sine wave), it will ...

Upsample them all to 24 or 32-bit 48kHz* WAV at or before import. This will gain no 'new' quality but will enable more manipulation/plugins etc without losing anything further. You then have the highest quality master you can achieve, which you can downsample afterwards to whatever broadcast structure you need. *or 44.1 if you don't need video sync.

I had this same issue and what would recommend and what worked for me is make sure the two boxes by the bottom are checked when setting up your driver in reaper! Especially the (Ignore asio reset messages, needed for some buggy drivers) box
