What is the best way to isolate individual acoustic events in the spectrogram view of an audio file in audacity?

I have some recordings of conversations I need to analyze but the microphone was placed in close proximity to a fan which completely masks the recorded conversations.

  • This sounds like an XY Problem - rather than ask us about what you think you might do to fix the problem, why not ask us about the actual problem & how to fix it? A spectrogram is not an editor & cannot be used as one. Being able to see the speech will not help fix the underlying issue of there being background noise. – Tetsujin Jun 28 '20 at 11:51
