I’m having issues with something that seems like it should be simple - I’m sure it is and I’m just being dumb!.

I work from home and I have just brought a new phone that takes a 2.5mm 3 pole jack - I’ve included a diagram from the manufacturer showing the pin arrangement. I have a 3.5mm headset which is perfect for me, comfy and I would like to keep it. It uses a 4 pole jack and is the same format as an iPhone headset. I have looked high and low and cannot find an adapter cable (I’m in the UK if that helps) so I think I’m going to have to make my own. Anybody advise me on how best to do this? Also how would I go about connecting the single mono channel from the 2.5mm headset to the stereo headset?

Thanks so much guys, Dave 2.5mm jack pin diagram

  • Hi lydney - welcome. This is off topic here, however you can buy adapters for these online, or make your own if you want - parts available from any electronics outlet. – Rory Alsop Sep 13 at 15:21
