On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Full elections have three phases and an optional fourth phase (Primary):

  1. Question Collection
  2. Nomination
  3. Primary
  4. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

"YO, YO, YO! *tap tap* is this thing on?"

Hi! I'm n00dles. I've been kicking around SSE and other SE communities for a few years now. I have professional experience in sound design, DJing, music production, and other aspects of audio production. More personally, I taught myself to code (not that well!), I've created apps and built/programmed a small robot named RALFπŸ€–! So my real knowledge and my qualifications are in music tech, but my interests are quite varied. Read my profile if you'd like to know more. (It's quite long 😁)

So Why Would I Make a Good Moderator?

I'm told I'm a happy, kind, generous person. I'm a bit socially awkward, lol, but I think a lot of us are these days! (it doesn't stop me from stepping up when I need to) I have two beautiful daughters, so I'm used to mediating squabbles and finding a compromise. Furthermore, I believe I'm fair and respectful to everyone, and I'm definitely willing to learn from and converse with Rory and AJ on any issues I'm unsure of.
This is a wonderful little community, and I'd love to be another pillar of support for it, to help it sustain its interest and maybe even help it grow. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

This election is over.
