I have a somewhat large Yamaha keyboard, and I have precious little space in my apartment. Has anyone ever tried hanging a keyboard on the wall to store it? Any experiences with success or failure?

This question came from our site for engineers, producers, editors, and enthusiasts spanning the fields of video, and media creation.

This question is off topic here, and it would also be off topic on our sister site: Music Stack Exchange. I would suggest migrating this question to DIY Stack Exchange, as this is a simple DIY question. –  Rory Alsop Oct 24 '13 at 11:14

Hanging a keyboard is similar to hanging most large, reasonably heavy objects on the wall.

I use rawlplugs and heavy duty brackets for hanging my bike that I think would do the job perfectly. They are U-shaped, with a flattened off base of the U and can be bought in various sizes.

Something like this, but at the correct size for your keyboard should work:

(this is actually from interiorlandscaping.co.uk and is designed for hanging baskets, but these work well)

And use self-tapping or wood screws instead of nails if possible. –  Don Nickel Oct 24 '13 at 18:19
